Dr. Maria Soundia obtained her dental degree in 2020 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She later specialized in prosthodontics through the Advanced Education Program at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where she also earned a Master of Science in Dentistry.
Before pursuing her specialization, Dr. Maria Soundia practiced for a general dentist in a private clinic setting in Athens where she provided comprehensive care in fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant-supported restorations, and esthetic dentistry. She has also participated in research focusing on smile esthetics, digital workflows, and clinical applications of intraoral scanning. Her work has been published in The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, and she has presented at major professional meetings, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and the European Prosthodontic Association Annual Conference.
She has held volunteer teaching positions in preclinical and clinical prosthodontics at both the University of Athens and the University of Minnesota, training dental students in fixed and removable prosthodontics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Maria Soundia is passionate about the arts. She holds advanced certifications in piano and flute, and is a long-standing member of the International Dance Teachers’ Association.
When she’s not tickling the ivories, enchanting with flute melodies, or flitting about, you’ll find her lost in the pages of an excellent read.
